     Thank you for selecting the most sustainable Organic mix made. Our soil is peat, vermiculite and perlite free. In fact most of the ingredients are recycled from the organic waste stream. It uses less energy to make, less water to grow and contains an organic nutrient, including silicon and Basalt charge for large, healthy plants and roots. You don’t have to choose between sustainable and performance. You get both! Our soil is crafted in Maryland by a certified organic farmer with over 30 years of growing experience.
     To get the best use of our soil here are some tips:
•    Make sure the mix is thoroughly wetted. It should be moist but not to the point that when you squeeze the mix it drips.
•    Do not use seed tray lids with this mix.  It holds moisture very well and lids can cause mold.
•    Do not add fertilizer to this mix until your plants have grown for about 6-8 weeks. This mix contains enough nutrients for that period of time. Adding fertilizer can cause salt burn.
•    When watering, water your pots thoroughly, allowing time for water to soak in. Then water only every other day. If you water too much you can create mold or soil gnats issues. If this were to occur. Let mix dry down till plants start to wilt, then water thoroughly at every other day intervals. Great for teachers over a weekend!
•    This mix should have a high germination rate with fresh seeds and yield strong plants with thick healthy roots while using less water. Place seeds about 1/8 inch deep.
