Seed Starter Mix

​Symphony mix is the result of years of work in making seed starting soil mixes. It is a sustainable, living soil mix. 100% organic. Symphony is made with no compost, thus has no manure in it’s source material. Symphony is a blend of coir, wood fibers, PBH (rice hulls) and nutrients. It contains nutrients from multiple blends of Nature Safe OMRI approved fertilizers and is balanced with Basalt rock powders for trace mineral enhancement. Symphony is typically mixed in a higher drainage ration than previous mixes to allow for greater drainage and air space in the mix. Symphony takes the components of our previous mixes and blends them in harmony to really boost plant growth. It truly is a symphony of materials leading to a concert of plant health! One definition of concert is “Agreement in purpose, feeling, or action” that is Symphony for sure!

Note: Symphony requires a longer curing process to make the nutrients available. This may mean, especially in cold weather, that symphony will have longer lead times. Please order well ahead to make sure we have it in time for your needs.

HiDra2T

Seed starter mix with compost and high drainage characteristics. Our most complete nutrient charge ever, robust , enhanced with trace minerals for Basalt powders. Used on our farm to grow thousands of plants every spring.  Over 10 years in development , 100% Organic, approved for Organic Production Systems by multiple certifiers.  Cal Organic Approved (CCOF) HiDra2T is similar to our former Turbo product but we have added an extra compost step that allows for materials to reduce to a finer level. Absorbs water better when dry, releases nutrients earlier. but with additional rice hulls to prevent water logging from customers that tend to over water.

More Info On HiDra2T

It is a coir based, peat free mix with compost and an approved nutrient charge that supplies the plant for the first four - six weeks of growing. They are living soils with a strong biological mix.  Our mix generates higher germination rates and requires less watering. Typically, plants can be watered 1/2 as much as in peat based soils.  A high drainage product too allow more air in the soil and to reduce the tendency to over water for growers not familiar with wood fiber soil mixes. Wood Fiber in soil mixes allow them to hold more water in reserve.

Place soil in seed trays, fust with water till moist, dimple with finger, place in seed, cover with a small amount of mix, thoroughly water. Water again when just below the surface appears dry. It is best if used in deep seed trays. Typically, transplant seedlings to a larger pot in 4-6 weeks.

HiDra2T comes in a 1.5 cuft bag, pallet size is 45 bags. HiDra2T is made for use in trays. Tote Slings available upon request. Blocking with this soil is not recommended.

For those that want to add drainage to a soil mix or want to use as a top mulch.

Multi-Mix - 2 Plus

Multi-Mix 2+ is a versatile product that is 100% organic and made from sustainable ingredients. Like all Summer Creek Farm products, MM2+ is a combination of compost (from an organic mushroom house), forest products, coir fiber, and PBH (Rice Hulls). All boosted with an organic nutrient charge and fortified with Basalt powders. The micro-biological activity in this product is robust.  It is a living soil. This product grows! HiDra-N

HiDraN is a mix specially made for nursery stock. High Drainage - Lower PH - Mild Nutrient load. An economy mix for large pot applications.  This mix is a living soil with compost, wood fiber, organic nutrients and basalt rock powder fortification.

HiDra2T-Block

A blocking mix used for soil blocking with the same nutrient characteristics as HiDra2T. This mix is a little coarse but forms nice firm blocks. You will have to pack into your blocking tool but the resulting block will hold up very well. Same ingredients as HiDra2T just reformulated ratios for blocking.

Symphony-Lite

A soil mix made specifically for micro greens. This mix is compost free to relive grower of food safety concerns with compost on fresh crops. The nutrient mix is fast release than Symphony with more emphasis on quicker growth than larger root systems. Symphony holds moisture very well like it's Symphony's cousin which makes growing in hot rooms easier.  This is not a living soil but well charged with nutrients and minerals.

O-Grow

O-Grow - O-grow is an organic compost that is fortified with Basalt rock and additional carbon to enhance the health of your soil. Our lowest cost way to built soil Health. O-grow contains no drainage components thus must be mixed in soil to grow plants. It is not a mix for growing plants in pots. Look at HiDra-Fill or MultiMix 2 for those applications.
