Summer Creek Farm offers both education classes on organic farming and tours of our farm.
It is part of our mission to educate consumers and other new farmers to organic methods and their
practical applications.
We offer multiple courses and seminars. See our events page for the latest dates and times. In order to sign up for a course
please fill out and mail in the application form (unless the class is being held in conjunction with another vendor where we are
just providing our services at their location then class registration is through them) . Please send payment in advance with the
form to reserve your class. Class sizes are limited and may be cancelled if minimum attendance is not registered in advance.

Groups can also schedule tours of the whole farm or just specific areas (like High Tunnel or Bee Apiary demonstrations etc.)
Our fees are reasonable and we are sure you will go away with something new learned. Tours for school children or adult
groups.
Organic Gardening Basic Course - A 4 hr course 1pm-5pm that covers planning, planting, irrigation, soil building, pest
management and some basic gardening equipment. Cost $65.00, see events page for schedule.
Organic Gardening Advanced Course - A one day course that takes a more advanced look at nutrients and pest management as
well as season extension techniques. Cost TBD See events page for schedule.
Organic Small Farm Course - A course for those that are planning to, or have just bought a small farm and want to operate a
small farm organic business. This course covers both the set up and marketing of a business as well as organic growing on a
small farm scale. This course will provide an inside look at what opportunities are available and you can take advantage of
them. The cost of this course will definitely be saved over the first year of starting your operation. You also can have the
incredible opportunity to go through the preparation, set up, operation and tear down of a farmers market. This gives real
insight to you before you commit to all the work of a full season! This course Cost $350.00 individual $475.00 Family. See

Rain Barrel Construction - Seminar on the benefits and how to build a rain barrel. You will have the opportunity to actually
construct one in the class. Class held at the Common Market in Frederick. Contact the Common Market for details and costs.
Organic Gardening Seminar - An abbreviated version of our basic course above. We will be giving this at the Common Market in
Frederick in the Spring. Contact the Common Market for details and costs.
Composting Seminar - This is a seminar on basic composting techniques.
Drip Irrigation Seminar - Covers basic techniques for a home gardener and benefits of the system.
Back Yard Chickens - How to raise a small flock of chickens in your backyard for fresh egg production. How to have fresh eggs
